The Jameson Institute’s Graduate Theory Colloquium brings together graduate students across Duke in the study of critical theory.

Following the Frankfurt School’s original mandate, and, later, Fredric Jameson’s model, of critical theory as the interdisciplinary analysis of complex social phenomena, the Colloquium convenes junior scholars across departments, fields, and methods. In each session, we discuss a work-in-progress—be it the chapter of a dissertation, a journal article, a conference paper, or a public essay—and a faculty member of the author’s choosing offers a response.

Join us, on October 8, from 3:45–4:15pm, in Friedl 216, for our inaugural meeting. If you are interested in participating but unable to attend, contact R Morris Levine, the Institute’s Graduate Fellow.
